Primary Function / Primary Goals / Objectives: The Supervisor, for Global Communications Center, in conjunction with the rest of the Security Management, is responsible for establishing and enforcing the policies and procedures of the department whether they be in the technical, personnel or administrative areas. The position is directly responsible for managing the work of 3 Analysts.The supervisor must plan work schedules, job activities, provide training, tools and equipment. The supervisor also coordinates work activities with other internal and external groups (i.e. law enforcement, fire, paramedics, engineers, and production personnel to maximize the efforts of Global Security.
This position is a third shift opportunity.
Operating under the general guidance of the operations manager, the duties of this position include but are not limited to:
planning, organizing, staffing, training, directing and controlling the Global Communications Center activities.
More specific duties include the developing and issuing of goals, policies, procedures and programs to produce results in accordance with the corporate objectives as well as the objectives of individual customer divisions and departments.
The supervisor must understand and work successfully with customers who often have urgent and conflicting demands.
The supervisor must also determine requirements for new and replacement tools, provide training and job instruction, know safety rules and regulations and be sure all Communications Center personal are trained on safe work practices.
This positions requires the individual to seek out and stay current with new techniques, equipment and materials associated with the Global Security field.
The Supervisor must provide expert technical support during all emergency related events such as medical, fire, violence and crisis notifications.
Supervisors need to be knowledgeable in entrance and exit procedures for controlled environments, cross contamination control procedures, microbical control procedures and aseptic cleaning techniques.
This position requires the individual to assure that all regulatory requirements are met and maintained to include FDA, DEA and OSHA requirements, to allow manufacturing of Pharmaceutical, Chemical and Diagnostic products to market.
The supervisor can also be called on to be a subject matter expert for Lake County Security services when working with the FDA or other regulatory agencies.
Frequently, in addition to his/her more typical responsibilities, Supervisors will act in other assigned roles such as. department representative to work on special inter divisional project teams and/or task forces, provide temporary support for departmental projects, and be a temporary backup for his/her manager.
Minimum Education & Experience
Education: HS Diploma is mandatory. Associates Degree or the equivalent experience and formal post high school technical training such an executive Lake County Security certification is desirable. Bachelors degree or working toward the completion of a degree is preferred but not necessary. Background: This position requires at least five years of Global Communications Center work experience and at least two years experience in a lead officer, receptionist, switchboard operator or access control administrator role. Knowledge of all areas of Global Security, including incident reporting, preliminary investigations, emergency response, crisis management notification, reception, switchboard, access control and employee relations is required. The Supervisor, must also have strong technical expertise so as to give direction to and gauge performance of the widely diverse technical services provided by this organization. The supervisor must have good written and verbal communication skills. be proficient with Outlook: email, calendaring, Microsoft Office, and general computer knowledge. At times can be required to speak in front of large groups, conduct general business meetings and lead, motivate and coach personal. They must be proficient in business math. with the ability to manage their labor and supply budgets.
