ABBOTT IN KILKENNY
Our Diabetes Care business designs, develops, and manufactures leading-edge glucose monitoring systems and test strips for use in both home and hospital settings. Kilkenny is one of Abbott's three Ireland centres for innovation in these diabetes care products.
We first put down roots in Ireland in 1946 and we are proud to call Ireland our manufacturing home for many of our most innovative diagnostic healthcare technologies and nutrition products. Abbott’s life-changing technologies manufactured in Ireland are exported to more than 160 countries. We currently employ approximately 5,000 people across our existing 10 sites.
Kilkenny’s vibrant sports and creative scene make it a great place to live or commute. Kilkenny is home to the Kilkenny Design Centre, two Michelin-starred restaurants and an array of casual eateries, and, just over an hour drive from Dublin, it is estimated to be nearly half the cost of renting in central Dublin.
